Capital Square Partners (CSP) and Basil Technology Partners (BTS), two Singapore-based private equity firms, have partnered to establish and close the US$700 million CSP Fund II for tech investments.

Global private equity firms including HarbourVest, TPG NewQuest, and Committed Advisors backed the new investment vehicle.

In a statement, both companies said that CSP Fund II will be used to acquire firms in their portfolios as well as to make follow-on and new investments for other tech companies.

The new fund will be managed by executives from both CSP and BTS: Sanjay Chakrabarty, Rajeev Srivastava, Mukesh Sharda, Bharat Rao, and Sameer Kanwar.

Founded in 2014, Capital Square Partners has completed more than US$500 million in investments in tech and business services across Southeast Asia and India.

Meanwhile, Basi Technology Partners – which was established six years earlier than CSP – has completed investments worth around US$200 million for growth-stage tech companies.
